Q: Why is the Club Disbanded?
A: Lack of participation - As hard as it is to let go
of things sometimes, one just has to face it and that time has
come.
We are extremely happy to have met and played with the
children and parents who were part of our group in the past.
Keep on playing and practice and have fun.
Q:
What is AKV?
A:
AKV is the Allegheny/ Kiski Valley area outside of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. This is our area of operation.
Q:
How do I join the Rook and Ladder's?
A: Just
bring your parent or guardian to a meeting and complete a permission
slip. Then keep coming!
Q: Do I have to be a member to
play in local tournaments.
A:
Well, that
depends on the tournament. The Local Library tournaments are open to
Students Only, but there is no USCF membership requirement.
On the other Hand, if
you want to establish a rating and attend the big tournaments, then you
will need a USCF membership. Remember -
You can JOIN the USCF through our Club Director or Renew with your Tournament entry.
Q:
Why did you change RAL Club times?
A:
Saturdays kept conflicting with other local
tournaments - and we felt it best to participate in the tournaments.
So we move our club time so we could have both tournament time and club
time.
Q:
What's up with your mailing list?
A:
Well - nothing really. Only a couple people are on it. If you
want to be included, then Subscribe to our mailing list by sending
a message with the word "subscribe" in the Subject field to:
ChessClub-request@rookandladder.org
Q:
Do you have a clearance?
A: Yep
-You Bet, The PA Child Abuse History and PS State Police Back-ground
checks are done for our adult leaders.
